RealHer cosmetics. The lipstick review

We all need a little bit of empowerment (or a lot) and even the smallest gestures can make us fell better and stronger. When I see a makeup company that embrace it, I’m always immediately drawn to it. RealHer cosmetics brand is just about that.

From www.therealher.com:

Our mission is to empower and bring out the best in the modern woman: to know her worth, to feel proud of her individuality, to love each and every one of her flaws, and to not fear who she really is.’

What can I say? It’s just beautiful. Making a world a better place. Now the real test is obviously the quality of the products itself.

I received all 5 lipsticks from their line (I guess they were going for quality over quality and I embrace that). Even though the range is small, but the shade selection is great, everyone can find something for themselves from different skin tones, to seasons, to occasions. And the name of each lipstick colour is an empowering message. So every time you see it, you feel better. How cool is that?

So what do they say about their lipsticks?

‘Introducing RealHer's debut line of gentle, moisturizing lipsticks enriched with Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Oil, Macadamia Oil and Vitamin E.’
‘Each colour features a soft matte finish with an ever so slight gloss that glides onto the lips smoothly with a creamy rich colour pigment.’

I would say they are definitely more creamy to glossy texture then matte, although I noticed that one color- 'I Define Beauty Myself' is more matte then the rest of the colours which has much more gloss. For those ones I had to blot the lips with thin tissue if I wanted to absorb the moisture and get more creamy finish rather glossy.

I was so surprised by how actually pigmented they are. One swipe and you get a full on colour. They also have a great staying power and do not dry the lips even a slightest bit (keep in mind I have naturally really dry lips). Two lighter coloured lippies has a perfect combination of creaminess and pigmentation. The more dramatic colours '(Be yourself be RealHer', 'I am Powerful' and 'Women Rule the World') are so super pigmented and creamy that I definitely feel the need of using a lip brush if I want a precise application and a lip pencil to not let the colour bleed outside the lip line.

My personal favourite is I Define Beauty Myself (well the name says it all, but I love the product as much as the name!) it’s a great cool toned pink which gives you enough colour to brighten your face but still neutral which makes it perfect for every day wear. Second favourite that will be worn a lot in the autumn/ winter season is I am Powerful which is very deep almost smoky reddish berry shade.

P.S. Even though I got these lipsticks as a gift, I was not paid to review them. I am and will always be honest with my opinions.

Best wishes,

The magic product: Illamasqua Cream Pigment

These little magic boxes filled with a creamy colour are great multi-taskers. They can be used for a quick every day makeup or fulfill creative ideas and perfect to carry in a makeup artist bag.

This is what Illamasqua website says: This intensely colour-rich, matte and crease-resistant formula has been designed for use on the face, eyes, lips and body. Apply Cream Pigment with an Illamasqua brush or simply use your fingers for a build-able, water-resistant, highly pigmented finish.

So basically what you’re getting is a long lasting creamy product that is rich in colour, blends easily and can be used anywhere on face and body. Depending on the colour you can use them as colour correctors, blushes, eye shadows, lipsticks or whatever else your imagination wants to do with them. I have to warn you, if you have oily eyelids you will experience creasing, so using a shadow base and topping it with powder eye shadows would be a good idea, but if you have dry to normal eyelids, this products tends to stay in place just fine.

Illamasqua cream pigment emerge

My favourite one is peach coloured Cream Pigment ‘Emerge’ I actually have to of there: one in my personal makeup bag and in a professional kit. I use it almost exceptionally for colour correcting the under eyes. Since the texture is creamy but also non greasy and just a tad dry, they do a great job covering those blue/purple/brown under eyes with-ought looking like a caked mess. You need just a tiniest sheer layer to do the job and then I always top it up with my preferred concealer and powder. They also have a green and lilac shade for colour correcting.

illamasqua hollow

Second in line is ‘Hollow’, which not only makes a gorgeous neutral eye look, but serves as a great contouring product for those with a very pale skin. It is a light to medium brown with very cool undertones, so those who suffer from getting orange look from every contouring product, this would be a dream come true.

Since purple aubergine colours are my favourite when it comes to using bright colours, I of course had to pick ‘Depravity’, which I use for eye looks, lips, cheeks or and creative work. This colour is my favourite to look at but not used as much.

Deep Purple Statement Lip

Want to make a statement? I mean a REAL STATEMENT? Go for deep matte purple lips. You for sure will be noticed.

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil #Train Bleu zydre zilinskaite makeup artist beauty blogger vlogger

Step 1:

Apply your preferred highlighter on the cupids bow (the double curve on the upper lip). Since dark colours make lips appear smaller, this trick will make your lips look fuller.  I recommend MAC Mineralize Skinfinish #Soft & Gentle.

Step 2:

Line the lips perfectly with Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip waterproof lip liner pencil #12C and fill them in. This will help the shape of the lips look perfect and keep the lip colour in place.

Step 3:

Fill the lips with NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil #Train Bleu. Even though technically it is a pencil but it’s too thick to achieve a perfect lip line. It will add the depth and slight hydration to the lips but will remain looking matte. Keep this in your purse and touch up the lips after eating (oil removes any makeup, so oily food will too).

Trying Caudalie skin care

I had a serious obsession with finding new great skin care products lately and got a whole bunch of different Caudalie skin care products.
They have an option of smaller travel sizes on their website http://uk.caudalie.com/ which I always do appreciate because it's perfect if you want to try new product with-ought a commitment of a full size and it's also perfect if you travel a lot (and I've been traveling a lot lately).

Caudalie skin care

This is what I got:

Purifying mask (A mask that absorbs impurities, tightens the appearance of pores, and reduces breakouts to support natural regeneration of healthy skin cells.)

Mix & Mask trio: Detox mask (sebum absorbing, deep cleansing, anti-oxidant and toxin draining, skin perfecting),  Moisturising Mask - (anti-oxidant, strengthening and moisturising, nourishing); Glycolic Peel (adds radiance, targets pigmentation, anti-dark spot, mild exfoliating- non irritating peeling)

Beauty Elixir (smoothes features, tightens pores, and gives the complexion a burst of radiance. An excellent base for make-up, this water awakens the skin in the morning and livens it up before a night out)

Grape water (refreshingly cool mist tones & moisturises skin. Enriched with moisturising polysaccharides and mineral salts, providing an instant boost of hydration)

Divine Oil (Enriching dry oil for body, face and hair)

Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet (immediate and long-lasting calming and soothing action, reactivates the skin’s hydration mechanisms and restores its water reserves. As skin becomes stronger, it feels softer and more comfortable.)
