Essence is a super affordable makeup company that seems to be coming with a lot of new great looking products lately. I’ve been recommended to try their lipsticks, as I’ve been trying to find some good lipsticks that would not break the pocket.
Since they came out with their Long lasting Lipstick Nude line, I chose two lipsticks from this new line and one of the regular ones.
The regular line lipsticks comes in a cute all black plastic package and a lipstick colored ring in the middle, separating the cap from the bottom part. Long lasting nude line lipsticks are packaged in a lipstick colored plastic package with a black ring. So sort of vice versa. The tubes are a bit shorter than your normal usual lipstick, but there is no downside to that (except that there is less product inside). I have to say that I am very pleased with the package.
I am a bit offended by the smell though. Both of the lines have this old school granny scent to them. It does fade away after the lipstick is applied though!
The formula of these lipsticks seems very similar, probably even the same, the only difference is that they launched nude color range. It is rather a sheer a bit build able lipstick; you will love it if you are not looking for a super intense pigment. They are rather creamy and has a slight sheen to them (not matte, but neither glossy). The lasting power is not bad at all, although I can feel a bit of drying on the lips (but my lips are very dry naturally).
Overall for £2,50 the product is great and I would not mind to see more lipstick color selection coming from Essence!
